Amphora Fiano 2024
Geographe Wine of the Show 2024
The grapes are handpicked at optimal ripeness before being chilled then crushed. We use a basket press to softly extract the juice before it is transferred into a clay Amphora pot for where wild fermentation is encouraged. Once the fermentation has finished, we leave it on its lees for a short period of time before blending and bottling.
TASTING NOTES:
Colour: Pale straw
Aromas: Delicate with a beautiful liveliness. Jasmine, lemon flowers, oyster shell and sea breeze.
Palate: A seamless palate, pretty and delicate, yet it has weight and complexity. Lovely minerality, pink grapefruit, lemon and lime zest. Length for days.

Fiano a “classical vine” of southern Italy that likely has its origins in ancient Roman viticulture and perhaps may have even been cultivated by the ancient Greeks before them. The Fiano vines are planted at the highest point of the vineyard, and cooled by our fresh afternoon sea breeze coming off the pristine Geographe Bay. Fiano is characterised by the chalky minerality and citrus acidity you can expect from this classical vine.
