Amphora Garnacha 2023
WINE CLUB EXCLUSIVE
The best rows of vigorously thinned fruit in the Garnacha vineyard are hand-picked for an experimental mix of whole berry and whole bunch ferment in Amphora clay pots. Wild ferment is then initiated before it is basket pressed to extract juice into old French oak puncheons and stainless steel barrels. After 10 months we blend and bottle this wonderful wine. Enjoy now for fruit freshness but can be cellared up to 10 years.
TASTING NOTES:
Colour: Plum red
Aromas: Fresh, lively and enveloping. Beautiful lift with wild strawberries and raspberries. A hint of deeper, darker, forrest floor sits underneath the red berried fruit with a sprinkle of pink peppercorn and cloves.
Palate: Generous fruit on the front palate, juicy and medium weight but still with complexity. Cherries, wild strawberries and liquorice root. Fine balanced tannin structure and nice length on the finish. Perfect lunch wine!
