Green Door Wines
Green Door Vineyard Winery was established in 1998 and is located in the picturesque Ferguson Valley, where the Mediterranean climate of warm summers and cooling afternoon breezes provides perfect ripening conditions.
Using minimal intervention wine-making techniques, the fruit is hand-picked, basket pressed and matured in French oak.
This combination of an optimal environment, premium soils and traditional methods enhances the natural terroir of the predominantly Mediterranean varietals grown, achieving well structured, savoury characteristics.

2016 Garnacha – Amphora
$35.00This is the first time Green Door has released straight Garnacha. Originally from Spain, Garnacha (or Grenache as it is otherwise known) is a vigorous varietal that needs taming. Our vines are now 20 years old and are producing intense flavoured fruit, giving rise to our first Amphora Garnacha.
The Garnacha fruit was hand-picked and de-stemmed into amphora clay pots lined with bees wax. Some whole bunches were added to the pots at this stage. The ferment was initiated using wild yeast. When dry, the ferment was pressed off into old oak for Malolactic fermentation and cellared for twelve months before bottling.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant garnet in colour, the aromas are dark cherries, cinnamon, vanilla and star anise. There is a soft medium bodied palate, with juicy raspberries and black jelly beans, and fine chalky tannins.

2016 Grenache Shiraz Mouvedre – Spanish Steps
$19.95Grenache Shiraz Mouvedre (60/30/10%)
The Grenache Shiraz and Mourvedre fruit making up this wine was hand-picked from our and other Geographe vineyards. After crushing, the fruit was cold soaked for three days with the inclusion of some whole bunches to add texture and flavour. On the third day, the fruit was inoculated and as the ferment progessed, it was pumped over and plunged twice daily until dry. Once ferment was finished, it was kept on skins for two days before being soft basket pressed. Once pressed, the wine went into old oak and progressed through malolactic fermentation. It was then cellared for 12 months in old French oak before bottling.
Tasting Notes:
Plum red in colour. Strawberries and dark chocolate on the nose. The palate is fruity; with plum, black cherries and mulberries; and savoury with fine tannins and has a soft lingering finish. The GSM is a medium bodied wine.
